From a hectic schedule on Friday, it seems someone pulled the emergency brake. Everything stopped.

It seems so sudden. But I welcome the change. The rest of the team seem to not get used to the sudden change of pace in life. From data verification taking place from afternoon to past midnight, to just slacking around.

Big change but I feel like a natural…at doing nothing :p

Time to clear my block leave and do some wedding preparation. It seems I have quite of handful of stuff to do already.

Need to stop procrastination…and do some work. Cannot slack

but at least I am doing my own stuff, and happy to.

The action gets hotter in the project, as the go-live date draws nearer. Everybody don’t have time for themselves. In fact nobody seem to have time for themselves for the past few months.

The project has been dragging too long. Feeling tired, so much so that i can’t be bothered to do anything anymore. Just going through the motion. Target’s been shifted few times. But it seems the target has stopped moving. Just 2 more weeks for this shit to end i hope.

I have been neglecting my wife-to-be a little too much, and probably not putting effort into the wedding preparations as much as i should. I should do something.

was reading an article on Tan Kin Lian’s Blog and its discussions here. I see that most of the comments are NOT in favourable of NS, mainly because of the effect of this burden during a singaporean male’s prime years and in the midst of his career.

When i ask my colleagues who are on the executive level, especially those on employment pass, how old they are. I find them younger than me by at least 3 years. And they have more working experience than I am. I find that I have lost out a lot in that 2 1/2 years when i was “serving” the nation.

Some commentators blame the foreigners that come into Singapore in hordes, where they often cited to demand a pay lower than that of Singaporeans. True they may be out there fighting for the same job (except if you are a civil servant), making the market very competitive, but you can’t really blame them for doing that.

I believe that the people who crafted our nation building policies to be more at blame. People are always there in search of money. Singapore is an ideal place where the currency is much stronger than some developing countries, and cost of living is lower (much lower…) in their home country. For the pay in singapore, although considered lower than our own citizens, they can do much more things when they go back home with that money.

With that, we willingly open our gates and welcome them. Of course they would take the opportunity. Who would not? If there is an opportunity to have a better quality of life, who would not grab the chance.

I am not sure of how do you calculate the GDP, but it may be something to do with the cost of creating a product and the final cost of the product. Need to go read up on that. More cheap labour, with the same final cost of product means more profit. So low investment into the creation of product is always good. Cheaper cost of doing business will tend to attract other investments into the country.

With the policy maker’s eye always on the GDP as a measurement of success. I guess some other things, like satisfaction and welfare of its citizens may take the very last seat of a 40 seater bus, as compared to the importance of the nation’s economy.

Why does Sunday nights get so nice to sleep in? It was a cooling night, with uninterrupted night of sleep.

Sunday nights should not be so comfortable. It makes Monday morning a drag to wake up for work.

It should be unbearable, making us wishing it was morning, and we can’t wait to get out of bed, and off to work.

Finally, a full weekend of my own.

After weeks of at least a weekend in. office, I have a whole weekend to myself. Even managed to put in nine hole game today.

Now I have seen a small example where everything from the start to end is flawed. Now at the end, when trying to tie up the loose ends, it seems the whole string is frayed.

Taught a Filipino colleague some Chinese phrase during lunch, which was supposedly “polite”.

Stopped him just in time before he could use it.

I think if I went to the Philippines, he is gonna try get me beaten up on the streets.

Oh the black magic is a beautiful thing, I tell you.

Not voodoo black magic, but the HTC magic. It. Is a sleek device. Just typing on touch screen takes some getting use to.

Get a data plan to go with it, and you live without the laptop for awhile. Just that the battery life looks short. But other then that, an iPhone killer.:)

Its another complain on work. Sad. i m starting to get bored of this work man. I wish to get out. But this phase seems to be almost over.

Just this test phase alone, already took about 8months (and counting). It does not seem to end, but you can see some glimmer of light just ahead.

It is not a really difficult work. But doing the same boring shit is sucking the life out of me. It is like a dull pain that does not shock you. But you can feel that it is there, sucking away your energy.

What to do? Just bite on and hang tough still?
