In between

It is crunch time at work. 12-13hours daily, coming in on saturdays, sometimes sunday. This has been going on for about a month, all out of my own accord.

About 2-3 weeks ago, my team lead requested that the team stay till 7pm at least. Not too much of a request as it is just an additonal one hour after the offical 6pm. In addition to that, a request for a daily status report was put in few days after the former request to work till at least 7.

You could instantly see some unhappy faces and the furious typing among the team on the intranet messenging system.

Recently, the project management team decide to offically push for 9pm work days(or nite). No excuse for unhappy faces this time, now that it is an official request. But last friday, the team just freaked out. With the team lead out for meeting, almost all of them decided to leave at around 6.30. I cant really stop them as I had to leave at 7pm but with advance notice served.

Team lead came back to an empty room. Pissed off of course, got me to try to get people the people in the following day. Sent smses to all of them. Got no reply, which i expected.

This is going downhill, at a crucial time. 6 months ago, the team was getting along fine and all that. Lacking in motivation? Additional friction in stress periods?

We shall see. Just the last burst of fire, and we will be through!
