it was saturday, mos.
we played games, finished a bottle within the hour. the 2nd bottle came up. I was half gone already. Went to the toilet and did a few ‘merlions’.
I managed to struggle home in a shared cab. As i was having a trouble with keeping the drinks in my body, and threatening to do a ‘merlion’ anytime, i decided to lay down on the poolside lounge bench. The next moment i woke up, it was 7am. I actually slept by the poolside…..
it was fun, as it was not always i get to see the colleagues partying.
i m so never gonna drink again.
my girlfriend was off watching her movie, mama mia. so while waiting for her, i went window shopping for awhile. In this short 2hour period, i got poisoned!
poisoned by the “buy a watch” bug…..it was the aviator roadmaster. Love it for the minimalist design, and the seemingly lesser known brand. Not really a guy into watches, but i was very attracted to it, plus i seem to have a curiousity for mechanical or automatic watches recently.

The sales guy, Andrew is very into it, as he described the characteristics of almost all the available brands. Thanks for that andrew. I almost felt bad for not getting anything from the store.
But hey, i might be back again:p

nothing’s on on friday night. so i suggested making something at home instead(this statement sounds hmmm….never mind)
Last sunday was mid-autumn festival, so lots of mooncake were selling and flying the retailers’ shelves. Inspired by different mooncakes with stuffings of ganache and chocolates, i decided to make chocolate truffle.
went cold storage to buy some 2 bars of hershey’s baking chocolate, one dark unsweetened and one dark mildly sweetened, and whipping cream. Proportion is about 230gm of chocolate to about 120-150ml of cream.
chop the chocs into fine bits. heat the cream up. mix both up and whip it into a smooth sticky liquid. It will become stickier as this mixture cools down. if it becomes too sticky, do it over hot water/steam(just don’t burn yourself)
after its done, put it into the refrigarator to cool it. i put it there for half hour. decided it was too slow, i put it up into the freezer for about 20mins more. It will end up in a small bowl looking like that.
when its sort of solidified, with the hardness of say harder than ice-cream, you can scoop it out sizes you can pop in your mouth. mould it into whatever shape u like. I used my hands.
It gets alittle messy when the warmth of your hand softens the chocolate. use plastic gloves. roll the moulded drop over cocoa powder, then chuck it aside in another bowl. Use up all the chocolate.
with the cocoa powder, the chocolates wont stick too each other. when done, chuck it all in the fridge to let it harden.
feel free to experiment with other grades of chocolates, sweetened or add liquor like bailey’s or tia maria.
there you have it……sore throat inducing chocolate truffles.
the measurements of my pants, thats what the numbers in the title are. It amazing how it can the waist can expand this quick in 1 years time, while you take half a century to cut down even one inch from the waist.
I realised this when I was attending a friend’s wedding, and the topic at the table at one point was….waistline. damn. I feel fat, i feel like i am in the TAF club. and my pants are getting tighter. Anymore expansion, i have to buy new pants
This calls for EXTREME….extreme…trem MEASURES!!!
So i went for a run today, and i hope to keep this up. for a change in diet, i cut off carbo from my dinner today. Maybe i will try to go for 3 dinners per week without carbo.
my version of crash diet…..desperate measures
digging out old editions of mens health as well for tips!!

“Are you extremely afraid of nothing?”
“You know. I have nothing in my pockets. Would you like to see it”
Fat Charlie
A very nice book to read. Comedic, Humorous. A nice change from the usual books i read, which usually consist of a spy being chased, and he has to in turn chased and hunt them back.
It was not what i expected after reading American Gods, a much lighter story here.
You know, i feel that Anansi boys, if made into a movie, would be very interesting to watch. Imagine the wall of birds coming after you. Unfortunately, the movie may not come out at all.
Like that abit wasted lah.
