me dad brought his mom out for lunch. Me mum saw that she had a voucher for Huang Jia Restaurant. So because of that we went there.
We went to the one at Kallang Leisure Park. It has a very modern look. Dark wood and red velvet feel in a section. Small chinese restaurant setting, with probably about 15-20 tables max.
We went there for tim sum. Quite limited selection. Dad was alittle upset by the selection. We ordered a few dishes. Some of it were done alittle different traditionally. Like the chestnut cake(ma ti gao), it has a deep fried covering. It taste pretty nice.
Some dim sum usual like the siew mai, i didnt really like it as it has a rather meaty taste. We ordered their huang jia special fried rice. I find it nice, tasty and a special texture, probably due to it being cooked with salted eggs.
Not sure if the selections offered are nice as well, as i had a rather limited selection to taste from today.
Could go back again, and have a try at others.
Lornie road just got a new viaduct. is tat what it is called. it links braddell road to lornie road directly.
This viaduct was put up to eleviate the jam that occurs during daily morning peak hour in between the two roads. i have used it for a week already. AND i do not find it any faster.
how could it be??!!
Yes there are more lanes servicing the braddell-lornie route. But I noticed tat the less direct road has one merging lane section. the more direct one has 3. Usual bottlenecks seem to be at the merging lanes. The new route will have 5-6lanes of lanes and merge it into 3.
singaporeans being singapoeans, our no-giving-way of driving has probably made driving experience worse, even on a new supposedly faster route.
No wonder I am starting to travel on the old and alittle indirect route to get to lornie, instead of the spanking new black smooth lanes.
Maybe an ERP here might help. This will effectively milk all east-west travellers drivers!! WOOHOO. *kaching* cash registers ringing!!
I am starting to think that cycling may probably just take the same time to get to work, AND CHEPAER TOO!!
BICYCLE LANES!!!

i have few bottles of red wine, half finished whisky and some beer lying around the house, refrigerator and shelf.
There seem to be a lack of space to keep all of these. Only one small wine rack, beer bottles are taking up space in me mum’s vege section of the fridge.
I think i will try to drink some to reduce such a pile up in the house.
Me and girlfriend had just chosen our units already! it was relatively fuss free, without much concerns about whether our choice units will be taken, since we are probably only into the second day of the selections for punggol sapphire.
The unit chosen, not the highest level though the chance is there. but probably in between among the higher level units. I took the optional component scheme as well, which gave me doors for the bedrooms and toilet.
I have no qualms about the doors. Simple. I am ok.
The finishing (floor tiles, wall tiles)of the bedroom, living room, toilet and kitchen seems alrite to me as well. So by the time i get the house, It is close to a move in condition.
So 1 less thing to think about now, at least until the second appointment, where we will know if BTO project will go thru, depending on the response of the applicants.
Anyway if you are in process of applying for such BTO projects/sales direct from HDB. A summary of what you need to pay is:
| 1st Appointment | $2000 |
| 2nd Appointment | 5% + stamp fee |
| Collect keys | Next 5%(and HDB will wipe out your CPF OA balance) |
| From then on | Start service your loan(calculated after previous stage) |
good…..now to plan for wedding.
i had the chance to take the train to work last week for a few days. But i have a feeling that time in between each trains during peak hour seem to have lengthened.
Don’t ask me for numbers and statistics, for this is just coming from a gut feeling. So please, lackeys of the SMRT please save your effort to shoot me down with your dubious stats!! (mindless rant as you can see).
When the authorities announced that the frequency would increase, i did notice a difference. Usual waiting time for the train in the morning, as displayed were usually 2 or 3mins. This was great, the space inside each carriage was quite sufficient for a comfortable ride. I did not need to breathe down neck of the person in front of me. I did not have to smell anyone’s morning breath.
Then i started to drive to work, as i had purchased season parking tickets near my workplace. Now few months later, When i have the chance to take the train, the boards would display waiting time of 4minutes. Not just once, but whenever i had the chance to take the train to to work. We are back to sardines in tin can, newspaper in your face(courtesy of some inconsiderate commuters who chooses to read our very wide stated paper)
Are we supposed to take your increase in price, AND the reduction of your service level? I thought the usual and logical manner would to be expect an increase of service level, or maintain the current level with an increase of price.
Are the bloody PTC, the watchdogs for the consumers, doing your required job as an ombudsman? Or are you show dogs.
Uniquely Singapore…..where you are squeezed literally.

these few days i have been thinking and trying to find out more about house buying, especially the market trend. All this done in trying to decide whether to buy flats at this time is worthwhile.
While world wide property prices slump, current singapore prices, especially that of those from the HDB seem to hold on, even appreciating in value, although at a slower rate compared to last year. The price seems high right now, even for government flats from HDB.
Punggol sapphire, the one I am going to select is rather steep, compared to prices of resale flats. In face, it is almost on par. This has made me hesitant. Though it seems expensive, the time needed to complete the flat will give me comfortable cash flow for my planned wedding and renovations in the upcoming 3-4 years.
My dilemma is whether getting the flat at the offered price is a good price. Will i be caught on the high side, and unable to unload the flat if needed to in future.
If only i could look 10years into the future.

the day is arriving soon…..the day for choosing me and my SO to choose our desired flats. Past few days I was looking thru the pricelists and layouts.
So prior to choosing, to make my parents feel comfortable, i said to them. “Get that fengshui guy have a look at the building layout and have few suggestion about a suitable unit.”
As expected, his suggestions were alittle off from my desired units. will keep his suggestions in mind.
To involve your parents in such decision making is pretty risky. Just one very negative review from that fengshui guy, and our pretty good ballot number would have come to no avail.
Till next time……
very often I would be touching my belly. Lately i have discovered that its becoming like a hump. The sort of hump that a souped up, low suspension honda civic cannot cross without scraping its bottom.
I decided to do something. i searched for some exercise tips that would do without weights, as i do not really like going to the gym.
I came across this website, Fatal Fitness.
It looks interesting, with some tips on working with no weights, and videos of how to execute some of the moves like chinese pushups or mad russians.
I read further into a section called Death Certificate. The first article says
Warmup: 100 jumping jacks
Build up 250 reps total, any combination, of the following:
Box Jumps @18-24″
warmup jumping jack….100
i went to warm up my finger, clicking faster thru webpages. Fatal fitness, indeed.
P.S. Of course i will try out some of the exercises. Just give me some time to attempt the death cert exercise routines….fatal.
This post by Goh Meng Seng kind of summarizes the things that some citizens of lion city are unhappy about.
Good one! Come next election, please bring this post up for the public to read, in case we are all spun silly by any few-hundred-feel-good-dividend.
3) However, when it comes to wages, PAP does not see it as inappropriate to intervene to suppress wages by making remarks like “pay rise will increase inflation”! When PAP critics are pressuring them to do something about the high inflation, they brush it off by saying the inflation is “imported” and they could hardly do anything to it (in fact, there are things they could do like waiving diesel tax). But when it comes to bargaining for wage increase for workers so that they could cope with rising cost of living, they turn around and say this will be a source of inflation!
4) Ironically, PAP ministers themselves have just increased their own pay by double digits but now, they see it inappropriate for workers to have their pay increase!
