after this bad traffic jam, my colleage shared that he just took the public transport to work instead of driving. 10mins was the time he had to get up ahead of his usual schedule when he drives to work.
every bloody arterial road is at critical level man. all it takes is just a small kiss on the bumpers in the middle of the road, and everybody driving on the road before the accident will just have his life shortened, and probably stuck in the jam for twice as long as he is supposed to be on the road.
maybe the government can push for the idea of carpooling. i see sites like sgCarpool(need registration) and CarPool.sg(trial stage?). I have not register yet at sgCarpool. but probably acts as a platform for people interested in carpooling to interact.
if the traffic conditions gets worse, i will probably consider carpooling. currently when i drive, i avoid the ERPs on the way to work, so i make a detour, just like thousand others, who join me on the detour route.
with carpooling, it makes it more worthwhile to go thru the ERPs with 1 or 2 more passengers and pay the gantry fee. for a small fee per trip like 1 or 2 bucks, you get a cheap comfortable and a speedy journey to wherever the destination is(ok probably not all)
Come on who is with me!!!
but of course, we uptight singaporeans need to be more accepting and learn to open up abit more to strangers. but after 2 rides or 3, you would probably get used to it already.
come on who is with me again!!!!!
damn. no one?
