i have been neglected some stuff that i love to do for quite awhile. things like golf and a recently picked up interest few months ago, photography.

its been awhile since i brought out my camera to shoot some shit. these few days, there have been glorious sunshine and beautiful sunsets, even in supposed landscape limited singapore.

i have been missing out man! I really should bring the camera out for a walk one fine day real soon.

golf which i have learnt few years ago. i have been trying to go to the driving range to practise and all that, but the distance to the driving range just kinds of puts me off(slack. yes)

i have been wanting to practise and then go to the greensĀ  to play some real golf. but there isn’t any sessions on the greens being planned, so there was no push for practise.

perhaps better time management and motivation to get my ass out may help me alittle out here in this area.

it seems like quite a while since i met my buddies for a meal. so today my usual group managed to meet up for dinner at bedok for botak jones.

One thing i discovered, is that they serve alcohol!!!!!1 Jug for the boys(one jug only, need to “travel” :P ) while the ladies stuck with soft drinks.

It is shiok just downing the value-for-$$ dawgs and chilli con carne together with beer. hmm i guess its a fact that beer just goes down well with whatever you have for dinner.

i miss my cascade premium lager.

traffic in singapore

after this bad traffic jam, my colleage shared that he just took the public transport to work instead of driving. 10mins was the time he had to get up ahead of his usual schedule when he drives to work.

every bloody arterial road is at critical level man. all it takes is just a small kiss on the bumpers in the middle of the road, and everybody driving on the road before the accident will just have his life shortened, and probably stuck in the jam for twice as long as he is supposed to be on the road.

maybe the government can push for the idea of carpooling. i see sites like sgCarpool(need registration) and CarPool.sg(trial stage?). I have not register yet at sgCarpool. but probably acts as a platform for people interested in carpooling to interact.

if the traffic conditions gets worse, i will probably consider carpooling. currently when i drive, i avoid the ERPs on the way to work, so i make a detour, just like thousand others, who join me on the detour route.

with carpooling, it makes it more worthwhile to go thru the ERPs with 1 or 2 more passengers and pay the gantry fee. for a small fee per trip like 1 or 2 bucks, you get a cheap comfortable and a speedy journey to wherever the destination is(ok probably not all)

Come on who is with me!!!

but of course, we uptight singaporeans need to be more accepting and learn to open up abit more to strangers. but after 2 rides or 3, you would probably get used to it already.

come on who is with me again!!!!!

damn. no one?

bloody jam!!^@#$

It was a smooth drive on the road. then a report about a traffic accident on the road i was on was broadcasted. I look up ahead. oh no~ i see the traffic jam up ahead.

no choice. i am on a straight road into the congestion, and there are no alternative roads for me to take. so gotta inch my way thru.

today’s jam was pretty bad compared to erm……some other bad ones in the past. with a bad traffic jam comes with a bad crash up ahead. that was what i expected.

I inched ahead, abit more, and abit more. then suddenly the traffic condition on the same road eased up. it was smooth sailing. it was magic!! where the hell did the accident cars go to?

wtf was this bloody jam for?!!!!!

after dinner just now, i took a walk around vivocity and ended up in Pet Safari.

I came across a bulldog. It was lazy, grouchy and ugly until it is so damn cute. I wish i have one. No pictures, because i have been with a non-camera long enough, now that i have one by my side, i do not have the tendency to just whip it out and take pictures.

come to think again, better not get a pet. I do not want to be those singaporeans that pick up a pedigree pet, or any pet on a whim, and then to abandon it later

neglected

for the past 2 weeks, i have been waking up early each morning, and then driving back to my old army camp for my annual In camp training(ICT), so between that time and now, i have totally neglected this blog.

Incamp training is good, where ordinary male citizens of the country play soldier and you got an “excuse brain”, mindlessly doing things that the higher order instructs.

The no good part is I fell ill, with pneumonia, so says the doctor. But i am not about to disobey the order. So i took the sick leave for a day, and then tried to rest while going thru the stupid army shit for the week.

In between I went thru the physical fitness test, and i m glad to say i have cleared it! so no more pressure to take this test until my next birthday. and the $200 reward towards my “get-a-camera lens/golf club/laptop-fund”. and then there was the usual soldier training.

Now back to normal life…….

the great escape

so much so for my A Post A Day………

Anyway if you are a Singaporean, you would have heard of the escape of the most wanted man, Mat Selamat Kastari. Are you afraid that such a man has escaped? I am more afraid of the next time a security breach takes place, it might not be simply escape, but more of a payback.

Everyday I glance thru the reports from the nation’s paper, i see new clues regarding the escape. First day, we read the news about the escape. Not much details, except the nanny state urges us not to speculate about the escape.

Yeah right, with the most vague description of the escape, u expect us to sit quietly? Like that gossip magazines and news would have no place in this country. Stomp would not have so much contributions.

Then you showed us how he looked like. The next day, about the limp he has. The next, about the limp that is obvious when he walks briskly or run. Now you tell us what he was wearing that very day he escaped.

All these clues, maybe you could have like released it like during the very moment the escape was discovered. Would not it have increased the alertness of the public towards the escapee and probably increase the chance of finding him initially.

Or probably you spent too much time processing the data into a newspaper friendly version without requiring readers to read/sepculate between the lines?

Update: After i published, i read from my google reader that brown has covered most of the above already.
